| | curious | ] | o.k. so, has anyone heard any news about gville involving spanish trace apts, or anything on windmeadows blvd? when i came home today there were 6 cop cars, and one unmarked sheriff's vehicle. . . i only could see three people (presumably there were A LOT more with that many vehicles) and they seemed to be eyeing the "sand volleyball court" that we all make fun of. . . the office was closed, and when i just went down there she said she had no idea what happened, and she only got there at the end. there was a helicopter circling, i think it was a police chopper, but i couldn't really tell. it was crazy. i kept looking outside. i thought maybe they found a body in the sand! but i think they'd probably still be around, and a CSU would still be nosing around. Plus, the office girl would HAVE to know then. . . Alright, that's all. let me know if any of you heard anything. i'm so curious! (c: |

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is on NYPD Blue now? He was on L&O: SVU the other night too. Wow. Him and little Rick Schroder. I guess this is what happens to 80s teen idols.
One course done with. Pretty sure I rocked the exam. Score. Another one tomorrow, I can suck hardcore and still get an A, so I kinda decided to not study. Oops.
Gotta catch up on Management. I did a little of that tonight, but not nearly enough. That exam is next Monday. This is so lame. I wanna go to sleep, and it's only 10:00pm because I'm a big loser.
Damn you NBA! You're taking away my hours upon hours of law&order! grrrrr.
O.k. I'm superlame.
oh! Where's everyone going to be this summer? I'll be in gville just about ALL summer. Looking for people to hang out with, and places within a few hours to travel to for a weekend visit maybe. Go Anteaters! |

| | crazy | ] | Got my first super rough draft of my LIN2000 paper turned in to Sarah for comments. I can work on it tomorrow night and finish it up for turn-in on Friday. Awesome. It feels really good to actually have the majority of something completely done two days before it's really due.
Heather and Kevin come this weekend. It's the much-anticipated first visit to Gville. All suggestions of what the hell we can do are welcomed! (And, I know, Dan - Against Me! Friday night. Looks like she's into that, just have to make sure she isn't bummed about skipping the Skatalites.)
All's well with everything else, too. Semester's closing up shop really fast. A week from now I'll be done with CLP3144 and LIN2000. Craziness. Ben's upcoming graduation is a little freaky as well. He leaves for Cali. in September. We have at least four more months in the same state. As for myself, the fact that a year from now I'll be graduating freaks me out a bit. A LOT will be happening for me a year from this summer. Can I really be a grown-up?
On a more urgent note, I need a summer job! Since the wonderful Jennifer has told me her store's hiring this summer I'm going to swing by (hopefully) this week and talk to someone there. I have to make money! Anyone else with job offers for the summer can feel free to comment.
Bored you all to pieces by now, I'm sure. I'm outta here. |

| | anxious | ] | great, great, great show last night. i *highly* recommend checking out the Healthy Lizards. they're the craziest group of kids i've seen in awhile. they were from puerto rico and absolutely rocked the house.
the slackers were amazing as well. it's been a long time since i've seen a band that could get a group of kids to dance right off the first beat. it was great fun.
off to watch class now and then donate blood at 2 and then do more reading. blah. |

they are incredible live. *so* not a let down.
only problem? they only played six fucking songs. lame! (lauren - close your eyes (c; ) the damn used either got to play the longest set ever, or that place closed down early. fuckers.
i now have this intense desire to see coheed again. jon, ben, and i are all over their next tour (hopefully without a huge headliner).
the fro was crazy. his voice is the coolest thing ever. and he said 'shabotie.'
go see them anytime you can.
all in all, a very enjoyable trip to jacksonville. |

| | blank | ] | Once again registration has come and gone and I'm left feeling a little bit screwed over.
Well, I got my second choice for a Psych class (I/O instead of Stereotypes and Prej.) but I managed to get my FIFTH choice of Sociology courses. Bah! Urban? Full! Crim? Full! White Collar Crime? Full! Deviance? Full! Right now I'm signed up for Liberation Soc. with Dr. Vera (who I know from JavaCity) but we'll see. I'll be trying all summer to get myself into any of the other four. *sigh*
Everything else is alright. A little hectic with the semester wrapping up. I need to finalize my pbcc plans for summer b. i registered for my classes here summer a, but i really need to get my transient student form signed off. i couldn't stay in gainesville all summer. i think i'd lose my mind.
i'm off to Orlando in a few to meet my mom. woohoo! |

| | cheerful | ] | my day's been not too bad so far. just one class, no work. nice. i also finally got my money back into a decent interest-earning savings account. since i closed my mb account at the end of december, it's all been sitting at wachovia not earning interest. so, i took care of that today. woohoo. unfortunately i also had to pay bills today. i almost threw up when i opened my credit card bill and saw it was $400. . . then i actually looked at the whole statement and realized it was from this semester's books. slightly reassuring since there was a $300 deposit from the school and all, but i still wish i could have kept the $300 and not had to spend it all on books for my classes. i've also now paid all of x-mas. i forgot that my last statement ended before the last x-mas rush. it *should* be all good now. (c: alright, time to go to the bathroom and wait for allison so we can resign our lease. then its super-clean up time. well, maybe not *super* but a lot of cleaning, at least. (mom's supposed to come up on sunday, woohoo!) |

Time for an update, I suppose. Run-down on my classes: I'm totally excited about my Research Assistant-ing I'm going to be doing this semester! Which is awesome, since it'll be 6 hours of my week, every week. Abnormal Psych.- doesn't look too bad. Ph.D. student teaching it, she seems cool. Lectures are a lot of writing, but interesting. Research Methods- Can't make up my mind here. . . The prof. is weird, I don't really know how else to put it. He's not as dry as I originally thought, but he's not *that* exciting that he can liven up a 400+ methods lecture. Linguistics- I love this class! Another Ph.D. student, and she's so sweet. I'm really interested to learn about the topic, and I'm glad it was an Humanities Gen Ed. (the only one I still need, argh!) otherwise I may have skipped over it. Management- Not looking too bad. Online/Cable Replay business classes can always get to you, but this one has promise. I'll get back to you after I've seen more of it and can really for an opinion.
Money's going to be tight this semester. I cut myself down to 11-12 hours a week at work. I was doing ave. 17 last semester, I believe. I've got enough savings to get by, but I really need to start ADDING to my savings, not taking away from it if I want to be stable when I graduate May '04. I'm still not sure what I'll be doing post-graduation, so I also need to keep in mind that I *may* want to keep on going for at least another year or two - depending on which area I'd want my Master's in. . . I also plan on going on my very first trip to Europe summer '04 and I need to make sure I can still afford it when it comes around. *sigh* (btw, Kristin- WAY jealous of your past, and near-future adventures!!!)
Ben's playing again with onedayold tomorrow night, so I'll be going out to that. They're playing Alligator Rocks with Star69 and some band from Baltimore or Boston or something. If you're bored, you should go. You can see me, and support my friends, and what else are you doing on a Wednesday night?
O.k. I'll shut up now. Later! |

this semester may possibly kick my ass more than the last one. . . and here i was thinking that wasn't possible! i'm trying to put together my schedule and its looking not too pretty. oh well. i shall live. *sigh* i need money. if i had money, and didn't have to work this semester, i would be 1000times happier. |
